# Start Here

Megapot is a fully on-chain daily $1 jackpot on Base. This section is for everyone who wants to refer, reward, embed, build on, or read data from it. Pick the lane that fits and go.

## Set up once

Three steps. Most people only need the first two.

**1. Create your account.** Sign in at [megapot.io](https://megapot.io) with email, or an existing wallet. If you don't have a wallet, one is created for you automatically. This is the prerequisite for everything below.

**2. Get your referral link.** Generated automatically when you sign up. Your link is `https://megapot.io/r/{CODE}`. Find and copy it at [megapot.io/invite](https://megapot.io/invite). Sharing it earns you **8% of ticket fees + 8% of winnings** from people you refer.

**3. Do you need an API key?** Only if you plan to call the [Data API](/build-on-megapot/pull-data.md) (and optionally for a higher-tier starter-kit deploy). Mint one at [megapot.io/dashboard](https://megapot.io/dashboard) under Profile → API keys.
