# How to Back the Pool

Fund the prize pool and earn returns from ticket sales.

## What is Backing?

Backers deposit USDC to fund the jackpot prizes. In return, you earn a share of ticket sales revenue from every drawing. Think of it like being the house—you fund the prizes and earn returns.

**Key points:**

* Returns come from ticket sales (\~12.5% of each ticket)
* Risk: Large jackpot wins reduce the pool temporarily
* No guaranteed returns—this is not a fixed-yield product

## Quick Start

1. **Connect wallet** — Have USDC ready on Base
2. **Deposit USDC** — Enter your amount and confirm
3. **Earn returns** — Your share of ticket sales accumulates each drawing

## Depositing Funds

1. Navigate to the **Back** page
2. Enter your deposit amount in USDC
3. Approve and confirm the transaction
4. Your deposit becomes active in the next drawing

Your deposit is converted to shares, representing your portion of the pool.

## Monitoring Your Position

View your backing position anytime:

* **Your shares** — Your ownership stake in the pool
* **Current value** — What your shares are worth now
* **Earnings** — Returns accumulated from ticket sales

## Withdrawing Funds

Withdrawals follow a three-phase process:

1. **Initiate** — Request your withdrawal
2. **Wait** — The current drawing must complete first
3. **Finalize** — Claim your USDC

The waiting period ensures fair settlement of each drawing before funds leave the pool.
